O'Brien County Career Day 2023

2023 O'Brien County Career Day Scholarship Winners:

Makenna Rehder and Lydia Flinders, both South O’Brien Graduates, were the winners of the 2023 O'Brien County Career Day Scholarship winners. They are pictured with Kate Stewart from ISU Extension and Rich Frerk from Agri Vision.

O’Brien County Career Day was held on April 21, 2023 with sophomore students from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, South O'Brien Schools, Sheldon Community School District and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn & Remsen-Union Community School District.

 

 

The students spent the morning touring O'Brien County businesses Rosenboom, Mill Creek Machining, Maintainer, Agri-Vision, Ziegler CAT, C-S Agrow, White Wolf Web, JTV Manufacturing, Sanford-EMS, DK Plastics and Sanford Hospital.

 

Lunch, scholarship awards and door prizes were held in the LLRC at Northwest Community College.

 

Students participate in the Prairie View Campus HUB in the LLRC, facilitated by Wendy Nelson, Prairie View Administrator.

 

The students participated in two panel discussions and a Business HUB session during the afternoon. Talented workforce recruitment is a strategic priority for O’Brien County Career Day. The annual O’Brien County Career Day affords our High School Sophomores the opportunity to explore the many careers available to them right here in O’Brien County.
